What to expect from north Bali?

The stunning north coast of Bali will be your calm and grounding home for the week. Find yourself completely at ease resting between gentle ocean and lush green mountains far from the tourist beaten track.

Pemuteran, where we hold all our retreats (because we love this area so much!) is a small laid-back coastal village that has kept its traditional Balinese culture and charm. 

Expect smiling and heart-centred Balinese people to turn every greeting into a beautiful moment. Learn the true meaning of ‘living in the now’ and find yourself embracing the ‘Bali flow’ where magical synchronicities are so common you no longer need to worry about controlling or planning everything.

Bali is an amazing place because it brings you back into contact with your own body and soul, opening up huge bursts of creativity, well-timed aha moments and important personal insights (which is why so many people travel here in search of answers and healing).

Our village is particularly special because it has an incredibly calm energy that helps you to implement all these new ideas. That’s why we believe this region offers the very best setting in Bali to reconnect with yourself and chart out the next chapter of your life that centres around what’s truly most important to you.

The venue

Our retreat venue is a small and welcoming resort specifically designed for yoga retreats, with a beautiful large yoga shala that has breathtaking views of the mountains that border the resort.

We book the whole resort for our retreats so you can either find a private nook to relax by yourself or chat with the other retreat participants in a lounge chair overlooking the pool.

All the rooms are set around a gorgeous circular pool and amongst vibrant tropical gardens. The buildings are made from up cycled Indonesian wood, giving the resort an authentic traditional feel (it’s also very grounding to sleep in a room made 100% from wood).

Each participant gets their own private room made from Indonesian wood with modern ensuite (most bathrooms are open air which makes taking a hot shower that much nicer).

Our venue is known for its special energy (it makes meditating easy, believe me!). It’s a wifi-free resort so you’ll appreciate the lack of distraction (and don’t worry, if you need to check your messages there are hotels and cafes down the road that have wifi).

The resort is only a few minutes bicycle ride from the beach and you can borrow one of the resort’s free bicycles to lounge under a shady tree just metres from the water during your free time in the afternoons. Or if you prefer you can take yourself on a quiet and easy hike into the nearby mountains. One of the resort’s walking trails takes you straight to a hidden temple and sacred water site.

Rise from a good night’s sleep for your gentle morning yoga class and guided meditation. Enjoy a delicious vegetarian breakfast with coconut water and tropical fruits.

Take your time to get ready for your underwater dive or our group coaching session. After lunch enjoy your second dive or afternoon off to relax by the pool.

In the early evening we wind down with a yin yoga class or Qigong in the garden before we sit down to a group dinner for good company and conversation.

And then we repeat 🙂

  • Taxi transfers between Ubud/airport and the retreat centre.*

Let's do yoga and meditate together!

We start every day with a gentle hatha flow yoga class and guided meditation.

Using the power of the group for motivation and support, we do these daily physical and spiritual practices to learn how to listen better to ourselves (which is where all the insight and magic comes from).

You will be guided through a series of sun salutations, and standing and floor poses that are suitable for every level, including beginners. The classes focus on breathing and turning our attention inward, so only a basic level of fitness is required.

Feeling awake and refreshed, we’ll have time to shower before we join up again for a healthy vegetarian breakfast together.

In the early evenings before dinner we surrender into deep yin yoga stretches or finish the day with restorative Qigong barefoot in the garden as the sun sets.

We really care about your journey

You’ll get a lot of inspiration from the beauty of Bali and plenty of insights about your life from  daily yoga, meditation and of course our beautiful ocean dives. Our coaching sessions will help you to pull all this together to really make a difference for your life moving forward.

We’ll guide you through exercises to feel into your true desires, unravel what’s blocking you from following them and identify the next steps for creating your ideal life.

You’ll receive a 30 min 1:1 Skype check-in session before the retreat starts so we can get to know you and plan our coaching sessions on what you really need. We’ll help you identify your intention for the retreat and get clarity on what area of your life you’d like to work on.

A month after the retreat you’ll get a 60 min 1:1 Skype coaching session with either Michel or Diane to follow up on all the good progress you made during the retreat. We’ll help you to follow up with actions so you can start seeing real change in your life.

Dive equipment

Dive into the ocean and yourself...

The north coast and Menjangan Island are the perfect sites for our diving meditations. The ocean is calm, with almost no current, and all the underwater delights can be viewed at shallow depths.

We will prepare for our dives with morning breath training so we get the most from our time underwater. The dives will be easy and relaxed, allowing us to focus our attention inward.

Suitable for beginners and more advanced divers, on our dives you can spot reef sharks, moray eels, turtles, scorpion and lion fish, seahorses and nudibranches…and if you’re really lucky a whaleshark.

Not a diver? No problem!! If you’re not a certified diver but would still like to join us: you can either arrive 3 or 4 days before the retreat to do your PADI Open Water Course or we can simply bring an instructor with us on your first dive of the retreat. Hot springs, waterfalls and temples!

We take a fun day trip in comfortable air-conditioned cars through the local region to bathe in the warm Air Pana hot springs. With it’s carved statues it looks like a set from Indiana Jones and we arrive early to get the place to ourselves.

A short drive away is the Buddhist temple where we sink into deep silence and have time to see the Buddhist statues, meditation rooms and enjoy walking around the grounds.

Next we pass by sweeping views of jungle forest, bright green rice paddies and traditional Balinese villages on our way to gorgeous Munduk waterfalls where we can swim or simply sit and relax.

After lunch we visit the picturesque Pura Ulun Danu Bratan water temple set in front of the mirror finish Lake Bratan before we head back to enjoy a late afternoon rest.

  • Flights to and from your home country to Denpasar Airport, Bali.
  • Personal, medical or trip cancellation insurance. 
  • Other non-included items would include souvenir shopping, personal phone calls, extra spa services, taxis, laundry,  and tips for our staff.

  • By arranging extra nights accommodation before or after the retreat.

  • A clarity call before the retreat – 30 minutes of 1:1 time with us so we can get to know you personally and make sure our retreat activities are designed for your unique needs.
  • A follow up coaching call – 60 minutes of 1:1 time with either Diane or Michel to stay focused on your goals. It can be challenging to stay dedicated after you’ve returned home. Let us help you integrate your learnings once you’re back home.
